The biggest January transfer story surrounding the Gunners continues to be their long-standing interest in Shaktar Donetsk forward Mykhaylo Mudryk. In the most recent development, the player expressed his admiration for Arsenal’s style of play and how he stays up to date on their results.
Mudryk was asked about his potential future during an interview with Oleksandr Zinchenko’s wife, Vlada Sedan, on YouTube. Several times during the interview, Arsenal was brought up.
After his outstanding performances in the Champions League this season, the 21-year-old’s value is closer to €65 million (£56.9 million), but The Athletic has now stated that Shaktar has informed clubs that they will need to pay close to £90 million to obtain him.
Arsenal would have needed to pay about €50 million (£43.8 million) to sign the midfielder during the summer transfer window, according to transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano.
When asked which teams he thinks are playing well, Mudryk explained: “Napoli, they’re playing really well at the moment with some great players; Bayern, Manchester City, and Arsenal.”
