It’s still very early to predict that neither Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, or Arsenal won’t be making it to the next stage of the EFL Carabao Cup when it returns in November a few months ago but it seems that this is an unusual prediction that’s valid.
Arsenal face Brighton and Hove Albion at Emirates Stadium and it ended in surprising defeat despite scoring the first goal of the game.
Arsenal suffered a 3-1 defeat and it’s no doubt that they will have to wait until the 2023 edition of the competition for another chance to win the EFL Carabao Cup.
The same thing happened when Nottingham Forest hosted Tottenham Hotspur at their home stadium and they managed to score two quickfire goals to proceed to the next stage of the competition.
Jesse Lingard and Renan Lodi scored these two goals to send Nottingham Forest to the next round of the competition.
Manchester City also face Chelsea at Etihad Stadium and it was another chance for Pep Guardiola to rest Erling Haaland who hasn’t been fully fit in the past few days.
This doesn’t stop Manchester City to secure a 2-0 win against Chelsea to proceed to the next stage of the competition.
It’s quite surprising that Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur get knocked out of the same competition on the same day.
