Arsenal supporters group the Ashburton Army have been mocked online after posting a picture that will “leave Leeds terrified” ahead of their Premier League clash.
Arsenal will travel up the M1 on Sunday as they face Leeds United to try and extend their lead at the top of the table. The Peacocks, on the other hand, could move into the top half with a win.
The Gunners’ supporters group have been central to an increase in the atmosphere at the Emirates over the past couple of seasons. But their latest snap online has been mocked by rival fans after it emerged on social media.
One fan tweeted: “Blurring out their faces as if they’re wanted criminals. The worst crime these lot have committed is being called the “Ashburton Army!”
“I remember going away with my school for my first DoE trip as well. Bless them,” a second joked. While one Leeds fan joked: “Scared me anyone want my ticket?”
A fourth said: “Somebody actually went and designed that flag. Then, somebody went and ordered that flag. Then they went back and collected that flag and at no time did they think to themselves, my God, this is incredibly childish. Grow up, boys.”
Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League
Arsenal have experienced a season from their wildest dreams so far this campaign – with Mikel Arteta’s men sitting pretty at the top of the table.
Only Manchester United have taken points off the Gunners, and Arteta’s men have brushed aside both Tottenham and Liverpool in recent weeks.
