As the days pass, Chelsea players are learning, one by one, if they will travel to Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup with their individual national teams.

As the arrangements for the break come together, Graham Potter is starting to have a better idea of who will and won’t be available during that time.

The Blues are organizing a preseason-style training camp for its players that will include friendlies in order to maintain squad fitness.

The scenario is anticipated to be unpredictable, though, as the players’ availability will be based on how well they do in the competition.

The Chelsea players who have already been selected to represent their country at the World Cup are listed here, along with those who have a remote chance of doing so and those who have been excluded.

Participants confirmed for their countries

Brazil’s Thiago Silva Thiago Silva, a seasoned central defender for Chelsea, is anticipated to represent his country, Selecao, in his third straight World Cup.

Being one of the favorites, the 38-year-old will have high expectations that he can guide his nation to triumph.
