Real Madrid has published their starting lineup for the upcoming match against Red Bull Leipzig in the Champions League matchday five at the Red Bull Arena.

REAL MADRID STARTING LINEUP:

Courtois, Vazquez, Nacho, Militao, Rudiger, Tchouameni, Kroos, Camavinga, Asensio, Vinicius, Rodrygo.

RED BULL LEIPZIG STARTING LINEUP:

Gulacsi, Henrichs, Orban, Gvardiol, Raum, Kampl, Schlager, Nkunku, Szoboslai, Forsberg, Werner.

As expected Rodrygo replaces Benzema in the center of the attacking three, Camavinga takes the place of Modric who was withdrawn from the squad on Monday due to muscle overload, while Vazquez and Nacho come into the starting XI at the back line, to replace Carvajal and Alaba.

Speaking about Rodrygo as the stand-in center-forward for Benzema Ancelotti had this to say in his pre-match press conference:

“A center forward’s mobility is an important issue for us. I’ve told him he has to be mobile, and he’s doing that. Karim is his teacher, and he’s taught him really well in this regard. When you watch Karim you understand how a center-forward for Real Madrid has to play.”
