Three players have been ruled out of Manchester United’s Carabao Cup match against Nottingham Forest by Erik ten Hag.

The opening leg of the semi-final between the Red Devils and City Ground will take place on Wednesday night for the first time since 1999, with the return match taking place at the Threatre of Dreams the following week.

However, The Dutch tactician stated that the players who weren’t fit enough to feature against Mikel Arteta’s Gunners on Sunday will also be unavailable in midweek when conducting his pre-match conference ahead of the trip to the East Midlands.

The players [Diogo] Dalot, [Anthony] Martial, and [Jadon] Sancho] who were out for the Arsenal game are also unavailable tomorrow, the 52-year-old confirmed few minutes ago.

Sancho has been on a personal workout programme for the duration of the past three months, during which time he hasn’t played for the 20-time English Champions.

The England international did, however, recently return to first team training, and it is reported that he is getting closer to returning to the team.

For the previous three games, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has filled in on the right hand side of defence for Dalot, who sustained an injury during the quarterfinal victory against Charlton Athletic.

Despite playing well against Manchester City and Crystal Palace, the Englishman struggled as they fell to the Gunners over the weekend.

The majority of the season has been marred by injuries for France international, Martial, who is currently out with his 4th different injury this term.

He has been unavailable for the last two games as a result of being replaced in the derby victory over the Citizens at halftime.
