The final group stage games of the UEFA Champions League resumed on Wednesday night after some dramatic and interesting matches on Tuesday.

We watched as Barcelona dropped to the Europa League despite beating Viktoria Plzen away from home.

Sporting Lisbon also joined Ajax and Leverkusen in the European second-best competition. Real Madrid and RB Leipzig joined yesterday’s knockout stage qualifiers after beating Celtic and Shakhtar Donetsk 5-1 and 4-0 respectively.

Despite securing a place in the knockout stage, Chelsea was able to beat Dynamo Zagreb at Stamford. AC Milan ran riot at the San Siro Stadium, beating Norwegian giants, Salzburg 4-0 to qualify for the knockout stage.

Benfica on the other hand was able to grab a crucial three points against Maccabi Haifa in Group H, while Paris Saint Germain scored a second-half goal to beat Juventus in Italy.

Manchester City produced a stunning comeback at the Etihad Stadium. Sevilla grabbed the first goal of the game, but Julian Alvarez’s and Rico Lewis’s second-half goals handed the Blues comfortable knockout stage qualifications.
