English Premier League giant, Chelsea FC were in action yesterday in their penultimate group stage game of the ongoing UEFA Champions League campaign away from home against Red Bull Salzburg at the Red Bull Arena.

The Blues in the game were at the commanding end and as such gave a good fighting spirit that helped them secured the whole maximum and needed three points that got them advanced to the knockout stages.

Goals from Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz gave the Blues the two goals with the host netting their only goal from Junior Adamu which ended the game two goals to one at full time.

Chelsea with the win have been able to maintain a 39-game unbeaten streaks when scoring first in the UEFA Champions League, with Graham Potter also extending his unbeaten streaks since he took over the helm of affairs at the Stamford Bridge to 9 games across all competitions (6W 3D).

Graham Potter with the result of the night is now the first Chelsea manager to go unbeaten in their first four Champions League matches since Roberto Di Matteo in 2012 which they won the competition back then.

Graham Potter as such has made history by becoming just the second Englishman to go undefeated in his first nine games as Chelsea manager in all competitions after William Lewis in 1906/1907 which was a period of 116 years running.

Chelsea so far under the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager have scored a total of 16 goals, conceded 4 goals and kept a total of 5 clean sheets which was quite an impressive stats which he will be hoping to keep the momentum going in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the current campaign.
