Memphis Depay, who was linked to Manchester United in the summer of 2022, is unsure of what will happen to him after the World Cup and whether he will remain at Barcelona.

At the moment, the Oranje in Qatar are the 28-year-main old’s priority.

After leaving Olympique Lyon, the Holland international signed with the Bluagrana last year as a free agent.

Under Ronaldo Koeman, the forward played a crucial role for the Catalan team. However, he has struggled to get into the game under Xavi Hernandez.

Now Barcelona are willing to let go of Depay in January. And speaking to the media via Manchester Evening News, the 28-year-old is not thinking about anything beyond the prestigious tournament in Qatar.

“I don’t want to think about the past, I’m focused on the World Cup.

“I also don’t want to think beyond this competition. I don’t know what will happen after the World Cup,” Depay said.

The Manchester United forward line has evidently been hit hard by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Holland international has struggled to get minutes on the pitch at the Blaugrana in the current campaign. Injuries have not helped the forward’s cause either.

However, Depay is still an important member of Louis van Gaal’s team.

Despite not playing much in this season, he made it to the Netherlands’ 26-man World Cup squad.
